It was on a saturday 1st of August 2009. 25 degrees Celcius. 150 miles, 4 men, 2 parties, 1 car. WOW! What a ride, what-a-RIDE! Supporting the Dan Stezo MC (Daniel) doing his thing @ SNEAKERZ in the City Eindhoven and FORMS @ club Purple in Arnhem, we (Rocky, Giovanni, Steven and Daniel) had to drive all the way in a small, blue yet fast box. We began our journey 2:30 pm. The ride was warm but the music Daniel was providing, was all sing-a-long old school 2step/UK Garage music, which was also a warming up and some inspiration for the Master of Ceremonies. Only with 1 stop and no signs of tiredness, we arrived at the first location in a city they called EINDHOVEN!
Aaaaah. Eindhoven huh? NICE! A big city, they have a university, an own soccer club and the headquarters of PHILIPS lies there! We parked our car and in about half an hour MC Dan Stezo had to be on stage holding a mic, which was from 4:30 pm till 9:30 pm! After 5 min of walking, the first signs of the party became visable, or should I say “hearable”. Marked out by these white fences, it covered up a big area. We had to hurry so we searched for the artist entrance.
Straight backstage, on stage and leaving the MC with his allmighty mic to hype up 3000 people, the 3 of us went with FREE drinks into the crowd. Oh yesssss. Free drinks, sunshine, good bangin’ music and alot of beautiful, social people (girls)! The vibe was good. The music was better. The MC was at his best! Things couldn’t be better. Everywhere we looked, people were dancing. Even if it was just a nodding head or a foot that goes up and down. It was also the line up that rocked for most of the people and every time a new DJ comes up, the vibe was getting better and sexier and some of us know it! When it became too hot, we went backstage for some refreshments and social time. Chilling with DJ Rockid and other DJ’s and MC’s and free food also, we can’t complain. It’s getting dark (10:00 pm) and we also need to go support another gig of Daniel. Where? Forms @ Club Purple. Location? Arnhem. Yes… Another half hour drive further away from our home! Dayum! Back on the road! It felt like 5:00 am but it was just 11:30 pm! Maybe we needed some fresh air so we decided to have a short stop. Also 1 of us (Gio) had a spontaneous bleeding nose! WTF? No no no, we don’t do white horse. He just went in too far with his finger! After discharging old fluids and a clean nose, we continued the trip to Arnhem. Wow… It had more (street)lights than a christmas tree! Every 30 metres we had to stop! And the search of a parking space was a hell also! AAARRRGGGHHH! Arnhem had to come up with something better now! After 3 circles around the centre, we finally found a space to park in. YESSS! In search of the club in an unknown street (which was mwah nice) we finally found it. Club Purple. Purple, tiny, very warm inside and i couldn’t believe my eyes, because you are allowed to smoke INSIDE. The vibe was okay. The music was okay but then again the Dan Stezo MC was at his best. We went from eclectic electro house to a drum and bass party. People who swinged their arms wildly more than a football cheerleader! People who jumped wildly more than some mexican jumping beans! They were havin a BLAST! It was 4:00 pm and Daniel had almost lost his voice from 9 hours of spitting. We went for a quick snack and some flirting to prepare ourselves for the long ride back! Oh yes… Feeling the first raindrops after a long warm day and night, we decided to go. Thanks for the experience Arnhem…
